The mission of the Saint Paul Downtown Alliance is to create a positive downtown experience for everyone - whether you’re here for a day or for decades!

Take a look at the past downtown Saint Paul projects that we, and our surrounding community, have worked on. Let’s celebrate the growth we’ve had together and all the excitement still to come.

STREETS OF SUMMER

During the summer of 2019 we brought friendly staff, music, activities and art to the streets of downtown.

Streets of Summer was a pilot stewardship program that occurred in two priority zones – Central Station and the area around Rice Park as well as both Landmark Plaza and Hamm Plaza. This event helped us explore a potential business improvement district for Saint Paul’s City Center.

In addition to hiring full-time staff, Streets of Summer offered community activities, art projects and social activations, providing a multiplier effect for all the efforts and investments aimed at building a vibrant downtown.

DOWNTOWN CLEAN UP DAY

On May 7, 2020 nearly 50 volunteers came out for the 2020 Downtown Clean Up Day to pick up litter on the sidewalks, in the streets and in our parks.

People from all walks of life came together to clean up our streets.

Not only did our city look better, but our incredible volunteers remarked that it felt good to give back!

With safety protocol top of mind, downtown was split into zones, allowing volunteers to easily maintain proper social distancing while out and about.

POP UPS AT CENTRAL STATION

The Saint Paul Downtown Alliance hosted a second year of Pop-Ups at Central Station in 2018, in partnership with the Knight Foundation. The busiest transit stop in downtown had new spaces for downtown community members to gather, connect, and play. Visitors enjoyed several events a week, including lawn games, food trucks, and other fun activities. A full-time community manager was onsite to help coordinate activities, while also maintaining a safe and beautiful space for all to enjoy.
